Marie Curie Cancer Care

10 years of support

The NGS has now been supporting Marie Curie Cancer Care for a decade and has helped the charity to reach more patients throughout England and Wales.  The funding from NGS has enabled the charity to provide high quality nursing, totally free of charge to terminally ill people, giving them the choice of dying at home whilst supported by their families.

Research shows that 75 per cent of people would prefer to be cared for in their own home if they were terminally ill with cancer. In reality, most people die in a hospital – the last place they want to be. That’s where Marie Curie Nurses can make an enormous difference.

Every year the presence of a Marie Curie Nurse enables thousands of cancer patients to receive hands on care, so they can remain at home with their loved ones.

But for every family we help, there’s another we can’t. We want to reach these families – that’s why we are working to make choice a reality for all.

Marie Curie Cancer Care is looking forward to marking the generosity of the 10th anniversary of the relationship with the NGS with a series of celebrations which are due to take place this year.  The long term support of the NGS is enormously appreciated.
